Venezuela’s Tepuis

Venezuela’s Tepuis are flat table-top mountains found in the Guayana Highlands of South America, predominantly in Venezuela.

Tepuis tend to be isolated rock formations, islands unto themselves, that tower above the surrounding forest and can host hundreds of plant and animal species, some which are found on only one tepui.

Their nearly vertical rock faces and the dense rainforest bed surrounding tepuis make most inaccessible on foot.
