Greece boasts a bewildering number of islands scattered about the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Estimates range from around 1,200 to 6,000 and of those, anywhere between 166 and 227 are inhabited.

The islands are an integral part of Greek history, culture, and tradition. The Cycladic and Minoan civilizations, some of the first civilizations in Europe, developed on the Greek islands.

Each of the islands has something different to offer. Santorini is known for its stunning natural beauty. For revelers, Mykonos boasts an incredible night-life scene. Naxos is where it’s at if traditional, island village life is more your speed.
