Australian Outback

As vast is it is remote, the Australian Outback comprises the unpopulated, arid interior of Australia.

The Northern Territory’s Red Centre with its small, isolated gateway town of Alice Springs is a perfect example of the Outback.

Outback landmarks include Uluru, Australia’s iconic red-rock monolith. In the north, Kakadu National Park has Aboriginal rock paintings and billabong oxbow lakes.
