With Hai Van Pass on one side of the tracks and rugged cliffs overlooking the East Sea on the other, the train ride is spectacularly scenic and one of quickest ways to travel between the two cities.
That and who wants to pass up the opportunity to rub shoulders with the locals and get a real taste for Vietnamese culture and cuisine.
